Constitutional Reform
1. A Quick Overview
Hmmm ‘Constitutional Reform’ sounds mighty general. And yes, it is!! All the subjects of the Activation arena involve the possibility or necessity of reforming the Constitution. So here, we don’t go into the specifics of each element that could be reformed, those can be found in the Constitution, the Budget and the other Activation categories.
Here, we simply ask:
Why is the Constitution not a living document?
Why can’t we rewrite it for a contemporary, aware and hopeful community?
Our Constitution avoids any ‘originalist’ nonsense in the courts, and welcomes growth of the Constitution and the analysis of the Constitution, specifically stating in Article 1:
The Constitution is a living document, insofar as it should adapt in implementation with the progression of society and technology towards a more enlightened community.

Write them all. It takes five seconds.
Here is some suggested text to use:
Dear _______________,
The U.S. Constitution is meant to be a living document and yet it barely grows, despite massive societal changes, growth of knowledge and progression of technology.
Why does the Constitution not protect the rights of its citizenry? Perhaps it is because the drafters traded in slaves, knew only of muskets, could not comprehend the invention of a phone, car, airplane or the internet and had to negotiate with future domestic terrorists to even get the document signed? Why are we dedicated to a document that cannot contemplate this place or time? Why are there ‘originalists’?
We need significant revision of the Constitution, if not an entire redrafting, or we will never be able to progress to a better place.
Sincerely yours,
X
